To my loyal followers, my post for Days 11 & 12 are coming, don't worry! When we have rest days, I typically try to post those two days in one post on the last night we are there. So, stay tuned for that post later this evening. But for now, I have some exciting news that I hadn't yet shared publicly.
SO, our route was supposed to take us through Mexico, MO. However, our leg leaders were having some difficulties finding a host for us to stay at in the weeks leading up to our running send-off. Therefore, we decided to change that night's city to a city that we (or I) have a few more connections in....
COLUMBIA, MO!!!!!!
To all my friends in town this summer and my family living there, I would LOVE to see you all while I'm there on Saturday, July 12. Even better, my team is staying in Kappa Delta! Huge thanks to Bridgid and KD's house corp for allowing my team to have such a comfy, cozy host for the night. One year after graduation and KD is still helping me out in so many ways; just another reason why KD is for life!
I cannot put into words how excited I am to take my team to CoMo, Mizzou and KD. I am going to pack as much CoMo/Mizzou greatness as I possibly can into the one day my team is there. I'm hoping to get some delicious food donated from local restaurants for the team, and I'd love to be able to take my team to a few beautiful spots in the limited time we have (I'm thinking the Pinnacles and Big Tree...anyone have any other suggestions?!) And of course, since we're there on a Saturday night, we may have to make a stop by my all-time favorite place in Columbia very briefly since we have an early morning the next day... Tell Harpo's its queen is returning.
So, CoMo, I'm coming home again...this time with 25 of the most amazing, dedicated people I've ever met. Hope you're ready for us!

On another note unrelated to the route, I wanted to remind everyone of our upcoming MAIL DROPS! As I have mentioned before, anyone can send me mail or care packages along the route. On our first mail drop last week, my Grammy and Papa sent me a letter and it brightened up a rough day SO much. It's amazing how such a small thing like a personal letter or package can lift your spirits when you've had a long, hot, hard day of running a ton of miles.
If anyone is interested in sending me letters or packages, here are the dates for the rest of our mail drops. Remember the mail MUST ARRIVE by the date listed; if it's late, it will be returned to you and I won't receive it:
Day 17 - Lander, WY (Arrive by Tuesday, July 1)
4K for Cancer c/o Natalie Rooney
860 S. Third St.
Lander, WY, 82520
Day 20/21 - Boulder, CO (Arrive by Sat. July 5)
4K for Cancer c/o Natalie Rooney
1421 Spruce St.
Boulder, CO, 80302
Day 33/34 - Louisville, KY (Arrive by Fri. July 18)
4K for Cancer c/o Natalie Rooney
930 West Chestnut St.
Louisville, KY, 40203
If you are interested in sending a care package, snack foods are such a great idea since I can eat them and they don't take up extra room in my duffle or backpack! Some quick ideas: I love Goldfish, any kinds of candy, Craisins, granola bars (Cliff crunch bars, Lara bars), etc. Any small snacks (salty or sweet) are ideal and keep me energized during our long, long days.
That's all I've got for now, just a couple little things. But like I said, expect another blog post coming tonight with a recap of running to Gunnison, UT, and our relaxing rest day here.
Run happy,
Natalie
